Details of the Program
The Advanced Program on Nuts & Dried Fruits opens up the business side of the sector. The early bird registration is available until February 15. Students will have from September 15, 2022 until May 15, 2023, to complete the program. The program consists of 11 required online courses, totaling 60 hours, including reading materials, PDF summaries, videos and self-assessment tests. Additionally, Students will have the option to partake in the on-site course as well. On completion, students will gain an official certification from the International Nut and Dried Fruit Council (INC).
This course will give students essential knowledge of the packaging process and packaging materials.
This course includes 4 chapters:
Explanation of the multihead weighing system, elements, speed, installation, maintenance and general advice on buying are addressed in this section.

This chapter addresses the Modified Atmosphere Packaging (MAP) used to preserve the quality and shelf life of nuts and dried fruits. The concept, advantages, mechanisms, gases used, physical aspects and quality control are explained in this section.

This course centers on introducing and covering the 11 International Commercial Terms, or Incoterms® published by the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC). First published in 1936, Incoterms® are a set of internationally accepted rules, used to guide and clarify the roles and responsibilities of each party during a transaction, whether it be international or domestic.
The INC provides its members with a standard Short Form Contract for their best interest. The main advantages are its simplicity and flexibility. Parties can choose the applicable Terms and Conditions and arbitral tribunal to settle any disputes, among a list of institutions. This unit will provide students a closer look at the INC Short Form Contract for the sale and purchase of nuts and dried fruits.
Payment methods are a crucial part of international trade since they determine how exporters and importers will complete payment and finalize their trade deal. This course will help you identify the most commonly used payment methods in the nut and dried fruit business, understand different types of transactions (bill of lading, trust, cash against documents, export credit insurance, guarantees, Coface) and the pros and cons of different payment methods.
In this course, students will have a look at the legal aspects you might come along in the course of your business relationship. It is not so much about looking at legal aspects in great detail, but being aware of the actions you have to take with great care – simply because they have a legal impact. In addition, students will have a closer look at the new INC Short Form Contract for the sale and purchase of nuts and dried fruits.
